Is there a secret way to ask a mechanic to p your car for a smog test? I would ume offer $50-$100?

My car is a klunker and I can't afford to fix it up and spend extra money just to get it to p a smog test. Can I just ask the head mechanic to p it if I pay him with a quick $100. I know I'd have to be low key about it and just not announce it out loud but it's ridiculous to have to spend hundreds on a car worth $50 just to p a smog, wouldn't you agree?
