Do Muslims actually believe that a 'Holy War' is in effect?

im muslim, and though im not that religious and though my opinion may differ, i think that the holy war was long over, and the wars happening now are just struggles for power... the war between israel and palestine might... just might be considered "holy" since the isreali are trying to take the mosques there and stuff... but they still fight over land not god, so these days. i dont think they have a holy war
