How come guys commit such brutal aults against women GLOBALY?

i used to think crimes against women occured only in the u.s. but ofcourse that was the younger, naive me. i've been watching programs like american justice(on a&e) and cold case files(also on a&e) for years now and they have really opened my eyes to the public & what sinister-minded people we have walking freely in our neighborhoods. not that i was aulted or anything before but i often wonder why men decide to do things like that to women? what did we ever do to them? do you females think that because we are physically weaker than them(in general), that makes them feel they can push us around or do you think it's much deeper than that?*
