Are cold men more of a turn on than sweet guys?

My last three girlfriends broke up with me because they said I wasn't exciting enough and I'm wondering if I should try and act more cold towards women in the future. I'd buy them little gifts from time to time, and plan surprise outings and dinners often, or do little things like buy them small things they told me they liked, and since I earn an okay amount of money I'd insist on paying. My buddies who cheat on their girlfriends and lie to them all the time seem to find it easy to get and keep women. I just really enjoy doing things for people I guess it makes me happy more than them, not just for the women I date but I volunteer taking care of the elderly and help out in my local community a lot. It makes me sad to think I have to act like a like some of my friends to keep a woman. I do go on motorcycle tours around parts of the world and enjoy skydiving and snowboarding so I don't really consider myself unexciting. Girls is a "sweet" guy really such a turn off?
